Real keyboard, real shortcuts
Shortcuts from a hardware keyboard arrive as true key combinations, so ⌘C, ⌘Z and app-specific chords behave exactly as they should. On iPad, Option+Tab switches apps — a stand-in for the Cmd+Tab that iPadOS reserves for itself. Typing works in Vietnamese, CJK and emoji.

True 4:4:4 color
Video compression normally stores color at a quarter of the detail of brightness, which smears colored text. Multi-display and privacy
Pick which of the host's monitors to stream when it has more than one, on all three host platforms. On Windows, Privacy Mode blanks the physical screen at the desk while your remote session keeps seeing the desktop normally — useful in a shared office.
Windows Home included
Windows 10 Home and 11 Home cannot host the built-in RDP server at all. Remio's Windows host runs on them the same as on Pro, and on older Windows 10 machines and remote-desktop server setups where streaming previously never started.

What is Remio's latency?
About 8 ms of processing latency on a same-LAN peer-to-peer link — your input lands before the next frame draws, the rest is your display's own 60 Hz refresh cadence (measured internally). Over the public internet, expect low double-digit milliseconds within the same region, more across longer distances. By comparison, traditional remote desktops add 30 to 80 ms even on a LAN because traffic detours through their servers.
How does Remio encrypt my data?
End-to-end encrypted — your screen never touches our servers, and even the relay only sees ciphertext. Keys are generated per session and destroyed on disconnect — past sessions stay unreadable even by us. Pairing keys live in the device's Secure Enclave on Apple platforms or Keystore on Android, never plaintext, never in our cloud.
Do I need an account to use Remio?
No. Pair two devices with a QR code or PIN — no email, no password, no personal data stored anywhere. You are a device, not a profile. Remio has no central account database to leak.
Does Remio work over the internet, not just LAN?
Yes. Remio always attempts a direct peer-to-peer connection first. When NAT or firewall blocks P2P (rare on most home networks), traffic falls back to an encrypted TURN relay — but the payload is still end-to-end encrypted, so the relay sees only ciphertext.
