App launcher
See every dock app with its real icon. Tap to launch — the app opens on your host machine instantly. No "request app list" dialog, no two-second delay.
Sub-5 ms LAN latency, true colour at up to 120 fps, end-to-end encrypted, no account required. Here is what is inside Remio — and how it compares.
Thirteen features. Side-by-side. Concrete numbers, no marketing fluff. Where the rest say "fast" or "secure", we name the version, the resolution, the frame rate.
| Feature | Remio | Typical competitor |
|---|---|---|
| Performance | ||
| LAN latency (glass-to-glass) | Under 5 ms | 30–80 ms |
| Maximum resolution | 4K (3840×2160) | 1080p or 1440p |
| Maximum frame rate | 120 fps | 30–60 fps |
| Colour fidelity | True, pixel-perfect colour | Visible colour loss |
| Security | ||
| Encryption | End-to-end, bank-grade | Encrypted only to vendor server |
| Account required | No — pair with QR or PIN | Email and password mandatory |
| Server can see your screen | No — direct device-to-device | Yes — vendor relay |
| Input and audio | ||
| Audio latency | Under 2 ms, lip-sync accurate | Audio drift common |
| Apple Pencil pressure and tilt | Yes, both axes | Cursor only |
| Hardware keyboard pass-through | Every key, every modifier | Partial — F-row often missed |
| Platform | ||
| Native clients | macOS, iOS, Windows, Android, visionOS | One or two platforms |
| Multi-monitor and virtual display | Both, configurable per session | Single monitor only |
Click something. It happens. No lag, no catch-up, no wondering whether the input registered. Sub-5 ms LAN glass-to-glass is the difference between "remote desktop" and "my desktop, somewhere else".
Auto — adapts to your connection automatically, 60 fps. The default everyone should use.
Low — mobile data, airport Wi-Fi, weak connections. 30 fps, bandwidth-frugal.
Balanced — everyday work: email, browsing, coding. 60 fps.
High — design work, photo editing, colour-sensitive tasks. 60 fps with true colour.
Ultra — gaming, video editing, maximum fidelity. 120 fps on ProMotion displays.
Not a virtual mouse. Not a touch overlay. Remio recreates the exact scroll physics from the Apple trackpad — same momentum, same deceleration, same feel. It is the thing people notice first.
Tap is left click. Two-finger tap is right click. Slide moves the cursor. Pinch zooms. Two-finger scroll keeps inertia. Long press enters drag mode. Three-finger swipe moves between spaces. No learning curve — if you know your iPhone, you already know Remio.
Momentum keeps a flick going naturally and slows on the same curve as macOS. Touch-to-stop kills it dead the moment your finger lands. Direction lock resets cleanly when you reverse. Pause-aware lift avoids the surprise-jump bug every other remote desktop has. Sub-pixel precision means no jitter on small targets.
Five tuned presets — Default, Precision, Speed, Low latency, Smooth — and every parameter is customisable. Apple Pencil sends pressure and tilt straight to the host. External keyboards forward every key, every modifier, every F-row. Set the device once, forget forever.
Audio in lockstep with video — even on AirPods. From background podcasts to studio monitoring, Remio holds end-to-end audio under 2 ms.
With ultra-low buffer modes, end-to-end audio drops below 2 ms — fast enough for real-time music monitoring. You hear what is happening as it happens. Lossless mode pushes 96 kHz stereo for mastering work; Voice mode collapses to 44.1 kHz mono when you need bandwidth back.
Not a policy. Not a promise. The architecture. Remio connects your devices directly. We literally cannot see your screen, your files, or your keystrokes.
Your devices talk to each other directly. Video, audio, input — none of it passes through Remio's servers. Encryption terminates on your device, not in our cloud. Our connection server only helps the two devices find each other; once they shake hands, traffic flows directly between them for the entire session.
Launch apps, switch windows, adjust quality — all from your phone, without disconnecting. Remio is full remote control that adapts to how you actually work.
See every dock app with its real icon. Tap to launch — the app opens on your host machine instantly. No "request app list" dialog, no two-second delay.
Stream a single application instead of the whole desktop. Cleaner view, lower bandwidth, less to ignore. Photoshop on the iPad without the menu bar.
See whether your host is online, sleeping, busy, or already in a session — right from the device list. No need to connect just to check.
Switch quality, fps, or resolution mid-session without disconnecting. Jumped onto cellular? Drop to Low in one tap; the stream re-negotiates inside a second.
Remio is not a web app in a shell. Every platform gets its own native app — built the way Apple and Google intend. Better performance, longer battery, deeper integration with your device.

Made for AndroidNative apps reach hardware accelerators, GPU power, and platform features that web wrappers cannot. The result: faster streaming, longer battery, and an app that belongs on your device.
Unlike competitors that require NVIDIA hardware, Remio works on any Mac — Apple Silicon or Intel — and any Windows PC. The hardware acceleration is built right into your computer.
Update the client without updating the host, or vice versa. Remio's protocol is forward-compatible — old and new versions interoperate cleanly.
