What is Remio's latency?

Remio targets under 5 ms glass-to-glass on a same-LAN peer-to-peer link. Over the public internet a typical figure is 30 to 60 ms depending on geography. By comparison, traditional remote desktops add 30 to 80 ms even on a LAN because traffic detours through their servers.

How does Remio encrypt my data?

AES-256-GCM, end-to-end, with ECDHE key exchange providing forward secrecy. Keys are generated per session and destroyed on disconnect — past sessions stay unreadable even by us. Pairing keys live in the device's Secure Enclave on Apple platforms or Keystore on Android, never plaintext, never in our cloud.

Do I need an account to use Remio?

No. Pair two devices with a QR code or PIN — no email, no password, no personal data stored anywhere. You are a device, not a profile. Remio has no central account database to leak.

Does Remio work over the internet, not just LAN?

Yes. Remio always attempts a direct peer-to-peer connection first. When NAT or firewall blocks P2P (rare on most home networks), traffic falls back to an encrypted TURN relay — but the payload is still end-to-end encrypted, so the relay sees only ciphertext.

Which platforms does Remio support natively?

macOS (host and client), iOS and iPadOS (client), Windows (host and client), Android (client), and visionOS (client). Every client is a native app — SwiftUI on Apple, Jetpack Compose on Android, native C++/WinRT on Windows.

Can I use Remio with Apple Pencil and an external keyboard?

Yes. Apple Pencil forwards pressure and tilt to the host — useful for Procreate-to-Photoshop or Illustrator workflows from an iPad. Hardware keyboards forward every key including the F-row, Cmd, Option, and platform-specific modifiers. External trackpads pass through with full gesture support.

Your data never touches our servers.

Zero servers in the data path. Video, audio, keystrokes, mouse, clipboard and files flow directly between your two devices, wrapped in AES-256-GCM. Session keys are generated fresh and destroyed on disconnect, so past sessions stay unreadable — even by us.
