Download Remio Host on the computer you want to control, and Remio Client on the phone, tablet or laptop you'll reach it from. Both are native — SwiftUI on Apple, Jetpack Compose on Android, C++/WinRT on Windows. No Electron, no browser tabs.
Open Remio Host and a 4-digit PIN appears on screen. Type it once into Remio Client. The two devices exchange ephemeral encryption keys and remember each other from then on. That is the entire account flow.
Remio picks the lowest-latency network path automatically — direct peer-to-peer when it can (under 5 ms on a LAN), encrypted relay as a fallback. Hardware codecs do the heavy lifting on both ends.
On the same network, Remio negotiates a direct device-to-device link for sub-5ms latency. Over the internet it uses ICE with STUN to punch through NAT; if that path is blocked, an encrypted Cloudflare relay carries the stream until the direct route opens up. Either way the payload stays end-to-end encrypted — the relay sees only opaque packets.
